The Money Shot

I’m a straight shooter. With me there’s no fence sitting, shades of grey or batting for both teams. I always pick a side, I choose black or white and…… will always bat for Queensland (as long as it's 20/20 - I don’t have time for sports that last for a whole damn week – what’s with that?) Hence, my problem with shoes that are a ‘bit of this and a bit of that’.

I own two lovely pairs of shoe/boots, the ‘shuboot’ as coined by many a blogger in the blogisphere. My problem being, every time I put them on I just don’t feel right and somewhat incomplete. Strange I know. 9 times out of 10 I will remove the shuboot and replace with either a shoe or a boot. I seem to struggle with this middle ground.

This is something I’d like to rectify. For 3 reasons:
1). The Shuboot is 'terribly chic' and 'terribly chic’ is something I’d like to be.
2). Due to our very fickle industry, I fear the Shuboot craze may end any day now. The two pairs in question were awfully expensive and it seems such a waste. I need to jump on fast or my outlay will never be justified.
3). In 2020, when the Shuboot is resurrected, I want to be able to say to my daughter, “here sweety, wear my shuboot. It’s vintage (circa 2008).

How does one embrace the ‘in between’ shoe? Maybe I should experiment with the dress over the trouser theory just to get me in the mood

Love the second pair, they really suit you so forget about the money you spent.

I find shuboots tremendously difficult to wear. But the heels make it work.

I have tagged you as a brillante blogger; the post with details should be up in about 7 mins.

i think you wear the shuboot very well, both look great with the stockings.

I think they are both awesome! What you need to do is really embrace the weirdness. Make a real statement out of wearing them. I find that trying to make something unusual blend in makes it look even more unusual. Good luck!

I couldn't say how you should/could integrate these into your wardrobe other than what you've done here. This is working for me!

Great shuboot choices. And really nice legwear.

the shuboot should always be worn with a skirt or short, so you don't cut your lines. Hope that helps

Cool shoes pic!

Those are awesome shoes -- I don't know why you'd think they'd be out of style! You can always wear them with pants. I've been doing that for years, since I don't like long boots with pants.

Ha, I have the exact same problem with a pair of shoes I own!
I went to a shoe shop in Melbourne and tried on the shuboot 3 times because I really wanted a pair. In the end I had to concede that they just didn't look 'right' on me.
I think yours are adorable, you could sell them no?
I know plenty of gals that would buy them!
I'd wear the patent beige ones with skinny dark denim, have you tried them like that?
I think your photos are gorgeous none the less FG so even if you keep them just to admire yourself in them!

I like the second pair the most. And your legs look hot missy! Where are you getting your legwear from?

Both pairs are really nice. Its funny because i adore shuboots for the very reason you find them awkward to wear...to me its a way of compromising when i cant decide between shoes and boots! Plus im only 5 foot so weaqring boots sometimes makes me look even more stubbier...shuboots win every time for me!

Ah I love both pairs! Especially the first pair though - are they vintage? They look great with the knee-high socks. And I agree with the person who said to embrace the weirdness!

The shuboot, or 'shoot' isn't that faddy and I think can withstand the test of time... I especially love the first ones...
